HIberknitting 2
Hiberknitting 2 – Stephen West
Let op: dit boek is pas begin februari 2022 binnen!
Winter welcomes cozy dark days when the temperature drops and the light fades away. These deep winter months invite hours of Hiberknitting with a hot drink and colourful sweaters and blankets to stay warm. Bold Beginner Knits - Kate Davies
Bold Beginner Knits – Kate Davies
Can you:
  • Cast on / bind off
  • Knit / purl
  • Increase / decrease
  • Knit back and forth / knit in the round
With these basic skills under your knitterly belt, you’ll be able to make each one of the six bold pieces in this collection:
  • A colourful modular blanket
  • A top-down cardigan
  • A bottom-up yoke pullover
  • A garment knitted from side-to-side
  • A lace-patterned triangular shawl
  • A simple beanie (which demonstrates the usefulness of circular swatching)
Kate Davies was inspired to create Bold Beginner Knits for friend and bold beginner knitter, Jane Hunter. Each pattern was specifically created by Kate to introduce Jane to useful new techniques and different construction methods by knitting interesting designs that in no sense resemble beginner pieces. Unfamiliar techniques are introduced with links to relevant video tutorials, and from the straightforward pattern-writing style to the visual page layout, every element of Bold Beginner Knits is designed to be clear and easy to follow. Whatever kind of knitter you are, you’ll love making and wearing these six appealing designs. Hier vind je een overzicht van de patronen in dit boek

The Cumulus Collection
The Cumulus Collection
Five beautiful patterns in stunning Cumulus yarn, designed by Jeni Hewlett and Charlotte Walford. From cosy hats and mitts, to the perfect tee for layering, a statement wrap and delicate lacy shawl, whether you like bigger or smaller projects there’s something for you. In this book we’ve brought together five patterns that show how versatile Cumulus is. Three projects showcase Cumulus alone: Antumbra, a lightweight tee perfect for layering, Ceiri, a delicate lacy shawl shaped with short rows, and Becloud, a cosy hat knitted with Cumulus held double, topped off with a gorgeously fluffy pompom. We also explored some of the different ways you can use Cumulus alongside our other yarns. Held together with a strand of Scrumptious 4ply, Cumulus creates a cosy fabric with a soft halo, perfect for the Crystallo mitts. You can also play with contrasting textures to make the Lepontine wrap, which plays with the transparency of Cumulus against hand dyed Vivacious 4ply. We hope you enjoy knitting these projects as much as we have! Een overzicht van de patronen op Ravelry vind je hier

JEWELS - Making Stories
Jewels – Making Stories
"JEWELS is the third book in our European Nature book series which we created to share our passion for natural, local, breed-specific, European yarns, beautiful knitwear designs and the stories of the amazing makers who enable and inspire us to create magic with our own hands. JEWELS includes 12 modern knitwear designs for the colder seasons on this planet. From luscious colourwork yokes to drapey everyday sweaters, from a shawl as cosy as a hug to mittens designed to keep your hands toasty warm, all the pieces in this book are designed to be both enjoyable to knit and wearable for years to come. JEWELS wouldn’t be a Making Stories publication though without the stories that inspire us to do our work: We’ve included profiles for every single maker involved in this book, be it designer or yarn company, as well as two fantastic articles on yarn (by Katie Green) and colour substitution (by Dianna Walla) and a conversation on colour between Melody Hoffmann, a favourite designer, and yarn dyer Paula Goosen of Moel View Yarn." The Learn To Crochet Project
The Learn To Crochet Project
"There’s a wonderful moment in every class where someone who has been struggling just suddenly gets it. The light bulb goes on and their frustration turns to a beaming smile of joy. You know then that you’ve introduced someone to a hobby for life, one that will sooth their mind and keep their family and friends warm. That’s once you get past the frustrations of having to constantly think and count! This is the book for beginners that we always wanted to write. It’s the one we wish we could have learnt from. Between the two of us we’ve taught hundreds of people to crochet in classes up and down the UK (and abroad). The more you teach beginners the more you see the different areas that people struggle with and which simple tips can be shared to overcome them. We wanted this book to give you the same feeling of being in class, to give you the same level of information imparted in a friendly way, to distil all the teaching experience we’ve gained. It is spiral bound so it lays nice and flat while you work and makes it easy to flip back and forth between the various bits of information you might need. We want this book to give you the best start possible. As makers and designers we have always been more interested in things to wear than things for the home. And it is fair to say that we get very frustrated with some of the useless items that beginners get given to make (mug cosies we are looking at you!) That’s why in this book we have focussed on wearable items. There is something very wonderful about being able to make something to wear right from the beginning. There’s no better feeling than being able to respond to a comment about your clothing by saying “Thanks, I made it!” So let’s get you crocheting! We have written the book as though it is a course so it is best to start at the beginning and work your way through the text and the projects in order. It contains 4 projects over 80 pages: The Burwell Cowl is the first project in the book and is designed to help you practice your basic stitches. The Wicken Mitts are an introduction to working into row ends, following a pattern and making something to fit. The Bottisham Hat introduces you to working in the round, making a traditional motif, working seamlessly and decreasing. The Quy Shawl introduces you to reading charts, working lace patterns, picots, understanding special stitches, increasing in pattern. The book is written in UK standard crochet terminology and has a full discussion of the differences between the UK and US standards and makes references to the US terms throughout."
